About Us

PACT for Autism is a charity providing support for the families of autistic children, autistic adults and people with similar conditions. Our key services include the Parent Support Line, monthly meetings for parent and carer support, and a vibrant activities and events calendar, including our popular autism talks and training series.

Through our website you can access our various online resources. You will find useful web links sign-posting to our partner agencies, a practical services directory, and a page with resources specifically for Adults. You can also sign up to our online newsletter for monthly updates about upcoming events, talks and services. Our resources section contains leisure and sports opportunities for children (and siblings), and a calendar for upcoming events. Finally you can learn more about the different ways you can support us on our Fundraising and Support page.

PACT for Autism aims to increase awareness of autism through fundraising campaigns, hosting external talks on autism and providing in-house talks.  By working in partnership with education and health professionals, we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our families.  Our goal is to develop long term strategies with local communities that will improve living, working, social and leisure opportunities for people with autism and similar disorders.

PACT for Autism is a registered charity (1148170) based in Harlow, Essex. Founded in 2005 as PACT (Harlow), the charity became PACT for Autism in June 2012.

PACT for Autism are seeking the following role:

Parent Support & Information Officer (Harlow, 1-year contract, competitive salary, 12 hours per week, term time only).

We are seeking a highly driven, experienced and well organised person to join our Charity.  The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Autism, excellent communication and listening skills, and an ability to connect with professionals and parents/carers in varying circumstances.

The main focus of the role is to support the Talks, Training & Parent Support Officer in their duties. The role will include attending parent/carer meetings, professional networking, supporting Helpline queries, as well as sharing information via social media and the Charity website.  Flexible working conditions means that the Parent Support & Information Officer will often be working offsite, with regular reporting and updates to the Talks, Training & Parent Support Officer.

This post offers the opportunity to work as part of an energetic team to support the delivery of this key service, enabling the Charity to effectively deliver this important aspect of parent/carer support and information sharing.

If you have strong communication and presentation skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and volunteers, we would love to hear from you.

Applications must be made via email to Sam Fancett, CEO at info@pactforautism.org.uk before the closing date of Friday 1st June 2018.
