  • Essex Lottery - Fundraising for PACT.

    Support PACT for Autism for just £1 per week! One way you can support our charity and help us continue with all our support services, is through the Essex Lottery. Playing the lottery The Essex Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Essex. All good causes supported by the lottery will benefit Essex and its residents. Play the lottery, support Essex and PACT for Autism - it’s that simple! Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each week, with a top prize of £25,000! That’s a better chance of winning than the National Lottery or the Health Lottery! Each ticket will consist of 6 numbers and each number will be between 0 and 9. There will be a draw every Saturday night when a 6 digit winning combination will be picked. Prizes will be given to players with tickets that match the first or last 2-6 numbers from the winning combination. Match all 6 and you win the JACKPOT!   • Supporting your Neurodiverse child

    Essex Family Forum is proud to have worked with its family champions and parents from Send the Right Message Southend, Takiwatanga Support Services and professionals from across Health, Education, and Social Care to produce a pack of useful information for families with a neurodiverse child. This pack includes information about the diagnosis process, how to get support for your child at school, health and wellbeing and much more. The team have shared their own experiences and hints and tips, along with those of parents, carers and young people from across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. There are also signposts to useful books, blogs and online resources which are all tried and tested resources that the team have used and found helpful. PACT also have a limited number of hardcopies of this booklet, this has been funded for families to use. Please let us know if you wish to receive one and we will get it sorted.

  • National 5 yr Autism Strategy - 2021 - 2026

    The autism strategy sets out how the Government plans to support autistic adults and children in England over the next five years. The strategy promises to: invest £10.5 million into finding new ways to reduce autism diagnosis waiting times for children and young people invest £2.5 million to improve the quality of adult diagnostic and post-diagnostic pathways and diagnosis waiting times increase public understanding of autism with a long-term, nationwide initiative provide £18.5 million to prevent autistic people from falling into mental health crisis and £21 million to local authorities to help those discharged from inpatient units back into the community. improve understanding of autism by training education professionals, job centre staff and frontline staff in the justice system. All the commitments total almost £75 million and represent the biggest investment in England’s autistic people ever. However, they only account for the first year of the strategy – we are expecting more for 2022-26.

A candid and relaxed 2 hour session that will improve knowledge and acceptance in all work places and for all staff. These sessions have been funded by Capital Group and are offered free of charge.   • Help us shape the future of Health and Social Care in Essex. (Next forum meeting TBC)

    Essex Disability and Carers Forum My name is Roger Pope and I am a volunteer for both PACT for Autism and a volunteer forum member on the “ Collaborate Essex Disability and Carers Forum”, with Healthwatch Essex, Summit and Essex County Council. What is this collaboration and how will it help? Healthwatch Essex captures the lived experiences of people who use health and social care services in the county. 'Over the next 3 years, we are working with Essex County Council to deliver a new model of service improvement, representing adults with disabilities by using lived experience more effectively. Feeding into council plans, we are developing a ‘Collaboration in Action’ Forum, which will consist of volunteers and Essex County Council staff. We are passionate about collaboration and ensuring that citizen voices and lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.' The forum meets on a quarterly basis and will cover different topics each month. The next meeting is TBC The meeting will discuss TBC.   • Proud of Harlow Award for our Volunteers

    PACT for Autism, is very proud to announce that our team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers were presented with the Proud of Harlow award from Jon Clempner (founder of Proud of Harlow.) Our volunteers are the backbone of the charity and we could not offer all the services and support that we offer our registered families, individuals and professionals. We thank them from the bottom of our heart, they are VERY special people.
