Links to PACT

I have been linked with PACT for Autism since 2015 as a Parent of a 2 year old navigating the Autism Diagnosis process. I found PACT looking for support and found a community of people who ‘get it’. I later started working as a volunteer for PACT in 2019 and in 2022 took on the role of Activities co-ordinator. As a parent I loved the activities ran by PACT and was able to relax knowing I was surrounded by parents who truly understood.

Lived experience

With a background in education and as a previous SENCO, I have valuable in depth knowledge around education, especially Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision. As a Parent to two neurodivergent young people, one teen and one pre-teen I am happy to share my own experiences and used these experiences at my time as a SENCO to better support the young people I had the pleasure to work with.

A message to share

One of my favourite activities at PACT is the swimming trip to Colchester Leisure World which I remember attending as a parent and now have the privilege to organise and watch many families have the same enjoyment I have experienced many times.
