Links to PACT
My family registered with PACT several years ago and have enjoyed attending activities and making friends within the charity. As a mum of two wonderful autistic teenagers, I am grateful for the companionship of other parents who ‘get it’. I would have appreciated knowing PACT when my children were younger and I felt alone and didn’t know where to turn for support. I am privileged to now be part of the PACT team and love sharing what I have learnt over the years with the people I meet in my role as Child and Family Coordinator.
Lived experience
My teens and husband are all autistic and I describe our family as “Neuro-spicy” because there is a strong mix of neurodivergence which makes life rich and sometimes too hot to handle. My background is in education, working in primary schools for over 20 years as a teacher and in various senior leadership positions including SENDCo and Headteacher. I have always been passionate about inclusion in schools, long before I had my own children when it became personal as well as professional. The skills I learnt professionally, combined with my lived experience from my family have given me diverse knowledge that I am pleased to be able to share with our PACT families.
